I bought this at the McWilliams Nigerian & Ghanaian store in Langworthy, Salford - home to the best yams, molasses and punchiest Guinness Export this side of Lagos. Despite the clearly amateurish appearance I thought it would be worth a try.

Obviously it's a taste I'm unfamiliar with so I'm clearly not the best judge here. Moreover it's been imported and bottled up in London, so may already be suffering via transit. I suspect this isn’t a great example of a good palm wine.

It's unusual. Like a strange, flat and slightly off-grape soda taste with a white cloudy appearance. Not that nice really. I was told it's best mixed with Guinness, which I did. It didn't improve either. Worse yet it's only 1%, so you'd have no chance of getting smashed and ignoring the taste.

The label is something else too. A real shitshow of cut and pasted 'assets' and a huge texture blown up into pixellation, that little fella' winding his way up the tree.
