Anchor Steam Beer has grown into an American classic. From one of the states' oldest breweries - one that weathered prohibition, and  was then dogged by financial problems in the 50-60s. It eventually grew into an early microbrewery by the early 70s. The beer has a distinctive taste unlike a typical beer and has developed a solidly loyal following.

The label is pretty much unchanged since then. The slightly haphazard scroll, the cramped illustration. Chaotic.
