Aspall's have been in business for eight generations. I stupidly hazarded a guess that this chap on the label was a bad likeness of Isaac Newton (apples falling etc...). It is however Clement Chevallier, who started making cider in 1728, a descendent of the same family who run Aspall Hall and the cider press.

Their website is worth mentioning here, showing how each product has been named and styled after the various members of the Chevallier family. A fascinating little slice of English history. Downton Abbey fans will love this.
