Origin: Ertvelde, Evergem, Belgium
Style: Belgian Strong Ale
ABV: 7%

Beautiful label - simply laid out, blackletter, a glass icon, colour chart and a scanned signature and date. All sitting off each other perfectly. Nicely done.

Not technically a Trappist ale, the beer is brewed by the Van Steenberge family, but with strong historical links to the monastery of St Stefanus in Ghent.

As the label states the beer will darken with time, allowing the flavour to become more complex and less fruity. I drank this nine months in - it's fairly sweet and quite well carbonated. Worth buying.
